About Us
History
The Darfur People’s Association of New York (DPANY) is an organization founded in 2003 with the mission to advocate for and support the Darfuri people who have been affected by war and genocide. Darfur, a region in western Sudan, has experienced significant conflict and violence since the early 2000s, leading to widespread displacement, loss of life, and human rights abuses.
DPANY plays a crucial role in amplifying the voices of marginalized communities and addressing the humanitarian needs arising from conflicts like those in Darfur. By providing a platform for advocacy and support, DPANY contributes to efforts aimed at securing peace, justice, and stability for the Darfuri people both locally and internationally. Our mission to provide the humanitarians necessity to the refugee camps with water, foods, medicines, building schools and a commitment to protecting those fleeing from genocide and persecution, and ensuring that Darfuri voices are heard, and their needs are met. And justice is served for genocide victims. Also helps the Darfuri people in New York to engage in the American society.
